Generally considered for suitable roofs, balconies, terraces, walkways and complex details where controlled hand application is appropriate and open-flame application is prohibited. Substrate, primer, detailing and system build-up remain project-specific.
Rocathaan HotSpray — Specialist Spray Application
Specialist spray-applied pure-polyurea membrane used where rapid application and rapid curing are required. It requires specialist plural-component equipment, trained application and a project-specific specification. The complete traffic-rated system and wearing-layer requirements must be confirmed separately.
3GTX Technology — No Primary Reinforcement Fleece
MonoSeal's 3GTX formulation eliminates the need for primary reinforcement fleece within the documented system, reducing application steps and programme complexity. Is MonoSeal suitable for your project?
Suitability depends on substrate condition, moisture, drainage, structural integrity and system compatibility. Visual inspection alone is insufficient. A pre-specification assessment is required before MonoSeal can be correctly specified.

Blistering after application
Elevated substrate moisture at application. Membrane separated from substrate by vapour pressure.

Inadequate primer or contaminated termination. Detailing insufficient at edges and upstands.

Application Methods & Preparation
Applied by roller, brush, trowel or squeegee. No specialist spray equipment required. 3GTX technology eliminates the need for primary reinforcement fleece, reducing application steps. Preparation depends on the substrate and its condition — surfaces must be assessed for adhesion, contamination, moisture, loose material and existing coatings before application.
Note: Primer requirements must be confirmed during project assessment for each substrate type — they cannot be assumed in advance. Product must be conditioned to 15–25°C before mixing.
Environmental Controls
Application requires suitable dry conditions with relative humidity below 85%. At low temperatures, cold product results in high viscosity and poor mixing — both components must be conditioned to 15–25°C before use. Temperature, humidity and rainfall risk must be checked against the current technical documentation before work begins. Application records must be maintained throughout the project.
Warranty
Project-Specific Warranty on Qualifying Installations
Available on qualifying installations subject to the confirmed specification, preparation, application and manufacturer acceptance. All of the following conditions apply.
Substrate moisture confirmed below threshold
Moisture must be tested immediately before application — not at survey stage weeks earlier. Assessment method must be appropriate to the substrate and project.
Trained approved applicator
Warranty pathway requires trained and approved contractor application.
Product temperature 15–25°C before mixing
Cold product causes high viscosity and poor mixing. Conditioning must be confirmed before mixing commences.
Detailing complete at all terminations
Joints, penetrations, upstands and vertical parts detailed to the confirmed system specification using MonoSeal Detail where required.
Full system build-up maintained
Coverage rate, coat sequence and full system specification must comply with the confirmed TDS for the project.
BRoof classification — exact build-up confirmed
Where fire classification is required, EN 13501-5 BRoof(t1) or BRoof(t4) applies only to the exact tested construction. Confirm with technical team before specification.
