Thin-Film Reaction-to-Fire Surface Coating

A two-component high-solids surface coating used within suitable documented constructions where improved reaction-to-fire performance is required. The manufacturer PDS references A2-s1,d0 under EN 13501-1 for the exact classified construction documented in Classification Report 18831B. It is not an intumescent coating and does not provide a fire-resistance period.

Prokol Protective Coating Systems

Six controlled application pathways: ProFix (localised repair and detailing), MonoSeal (cold-applied liquid roof waterproofing), TopSpray35 (aliphatic UV-stable protective topcoat), Rocathaan HotSpray PA 260-FR (spray-applied pure-polyurea membrane), FireGuard Pro 200 (reaction-to-fire surface coating) and ProFast Flooring (autocatalytic polyurea floor coating). Each serves a distinct function — selection depends on the substrate, exposure, performance requirement and documented system build-up.

Open System Selector
Rapid Localised Repair & Detailing→ ProFix

One-component MS Hybrid Polymer for fast and temporary localised repairs and detailing, including suitable localised repairs where application underwater is required. Not a complete waterproofing membrane or structural repair.

Cold-Applied Liquid Roof Waterproofing→ MonoSeal

Cold-applied liquid waterproofing system for suitable flat-roof and refurbishment constructions. Substrate condition, preparation, detailing and the complete documented system build-up must be confirmed before specification.

Aliphatic Protective Topcoat→ TopSpray35

UV-stable aliphatic topcoat used within suitable documented metal-roof, cladding and refurbishment systems. Substrate condition, preparation, primer, build-up, exposure and warranty eligibility require project-specific confirmation.

Spray-Applied Pure-Polyurea Membrane→ Rocathaan HotSpray PA 260-FR

Fast-reacting spray-applied pure-polyurea membrane for suitable waterproofing, protective-lining and containment applications. Plural-component equipment and complete system specification must be confirmed for the project.

Reaction-to-Fire Surface Coating→ FireGuard Pro 200

Two-component high-solids surface coating where improved reaction-to-fire performance is required. PDS references A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1, Report 18831B) for the exact classified construction. Not intumescent — does not provide fire resistance.

Autocatalytic Polyurea Floor Coating→ ProFast Flooring

2-component autocatalytic polyurea floor coating. Colour-fast, UV proof, quick-curing. For indoor and outdoor applications on confirmed substrates. Substrate condition, moisture content and system build-up must be confirmed.

System Intelligence

The Prokol System Distinction

Understanding the difference between waterproofing, protective coatings, traffic-bearing systems and fire protection determines which Prokol product is relevant.

Waterproofing vs Protective Coating

Waterproofing creates a barrier against water penetration. Protective coating provides durability, UV resistance and surface protection — often applied over a waterproofing system. Monoseal and TopSpray35 serve as protective coatings. They are not substitutes for waterproofing membranes in high-consequence applications.

Spray-Applied Polyurea vs Coatings

Rocathaan HotSpray PA 260-FR is a fast-reacting spray-applied pure-polyurea membrane for suitable waterproofing, protective-lining and containment applications. Plural-component heated equipment and the complete documented system specification are required. It is not a topcoat or general surface coating.

Localised Repair vs Membrane System

ProFix is for fast and temporary localised repairs and detailing — it is not a complete waterproofing membrane or structural repair. Where the full roof or surface requires waterproofing, a documented membrane system must be specified.

Spray-Applied vs Roller/Brush

TopSpray35 is spray-applied — suited to suitable metal-roof and cladding refurbishment systems where output and access allow. MonoSeal is roller/brush-applied — suited to flat-roof and refurbishment constructions. Application method, substrate and system build-up must all be confirmed.

Roof Protection vs Fire Protection

FireGuard Pro is an interior fire-rated coating system. It has nothing in common with roof coatings — different chemistry, different application context, different compliance requirements. Never specify a roof coating for fire protection or vice versa.

Refurbishment vs New Build

All Prokol systems can be applied in refurbishment and new-build contexts. In refurbishment, existing coating compatibility assessment is mandatory. Incompatible existing coatings must be removed before Prokol system application.

Common Specification Questions

What is Forti Nova's relationship with Prokol?

Forti Nova is a Prokol Outreach Partner, supporting UK projects with system selection, technical coordination, project assessment and access to manufacturer support. The Prokol products supported include ProFix, MonoSeal, TopSpray35, Rocathaan HotSpray PA 260-FR, FireGuard Pro 200 and ProFast Flooring.

Which Prokol product is a spray-applied polyurea membrane?

Rocathaan HotSpray PA 260-FR. It is a fast-reacting spray-applied pure-polyurea membrane for suitable waterproofing, protective-lining and containment applications. The complete system specification, substrate preparation and primer must be confirmed for every project.

Which Prokol product is for roof protection?

TopSpray35 is an aliphatic UV-stable protective topcoat used within suitable documented metal-roof, cladding and refurbishment systems. MonoSeal is a cold-applied liquid waterproofing system for suitable flat-roof and refurbishment constructions. Both require project-specific confirmation of substrate condition, preparation, primer, build-up and warranty eligibility.

Which Prokol product is for fire protection?

FireGuard Pro 200. Applied to interior walls and ceilings in commercial and residential buildings where fire-rated surface performance is required. Not related to roof coatings.

When is Prokol more appropriate than Liquid Rubber?

Liquid Rubber = waterproofing membranes (SprayGrade, HBS200, BelowGrade) for roofs, gutters and below-ground structures. Prokol = specialist protective coatings, polyurea membranes, reaction-to-fire surface coatings and floor coatings. The appropriate system depends on the substrate, performance requirement and documented system build-up — contact our technical team for a project-specific assessment.
